Nomad Analytics is a data science and AI consultancy that helps startups and established teams adopt practical data and AI solutions, designed around each client's workflows, team and tech stack. Its motto: “Technology shouldn't be scary.”
Alongside its consulting, Nomad runs a web platform at nomad-analytics.io that its clients sign in to, hosted on AWS. Our team worked on the platform's product features and cloud architecture, including turning white-labeling from an unsupported request into a self-serve feature.
Scope
New platform capabilities, including self-serve white-labeling.
Frontends on S3 and CloudFront, provisioning automated through the AWS SDK.
Serverless PDF reading and generation, kept off the main request path.
Highlights
Clients asked to run the platform under their own domains, but white-labeling wasn't offered and doing it by hand wouldn't scale.
How we solved it
Built a self-serve flow: the app creates a CloudFront distribution and an HTTPS certificate through the AWS SDK, then shows the client exactly which DNS records to add.
Frontends ran on servers, and PDF processing sat on the main request path.
How we solved it
Moved frontends to S3 and CloudFront, which reduced hosting costs, and moved PDF work into a separate AWS Lambda worker.
