About the project
UnDesked replaces paper checklists and disconnected tools with one platform for frontline operations such as safety, maintenance, production, quality and training, serving manufacturers and industries like logistics, food processing, construction and hospitality.
Workers use kiosks inside client facilities to see their tasks and clock in and out, while the platform tracks who enters and leaves. Our team worked within UnDesked's product team on the platform and its kiosks.

Problems we solved
01 Kiosks on unreliable networks
Kiosks sit inside factories and facilities where the internet connection can drop at any time.
How we solved it
Built offline handling into the kiosk app so it keeps working without a connection and re-syncs its data when it comes back online.
02 Presentations that wouldn't play themselves
Embedded PowerPoint presentations needed to play automatically on unattended kiosks.
How we solved it
Wrote an Electron script that finds the embedded viewer, simulates a click to start playback, then moves away.
03 Reproducible infrastructure
The platform's AWS setup had to be versioned and safe to change across environments.
How we solved it
Defined the AWS setup in Terraform so every environment is versioned and reproducible.
